Press Release 010109

Calerga announces the release of SysQuake 2 for Mac OS X in Spring 2001.
Through innovative use of interactive graphics, SysQuake reveals insights
  into complex scientific problems.

Lausanne, Switzerland, January 9, 2000 - Calerga announces today that it will
release SysQuake 2 for Mac OS X in Spring 2001.

SysQuake 2 is the latest version of the application which helps understanding
mathematics, physics and engineering and enables the rapid design of
high-performance technical systems. A development beta release is available today
to SysQuake customers who want to migrate quickly to Mac OS X and who already run
Mac OS X public beta. In addition, SysQuake LE, which offers most of the
capabilities of SysQuake, is available as a free download.

"Released with the latest version of SysQuake LE for Macintosh and Windows, the
beta release of SysQuake LE for Mac OS X has had huge success", said Yves Piguet,
Calerga president and SysQuake lead developer. "We're eager to have SysQuake
benefit from the robustness and ease of use of Mac OS X."

SysQuake 2 provides a better integrated development environment, a smoother
learning curve for simple tasks, improved graphics, as well as better support for
collections of functions written by users, Calerga or third-parties. With respect
to SysQuake LE, SysQuake adds high-quality numerical functions based on LAPACK,
the de-facto standard for linear algebra computation; the possibility for the
user to add his/her own commands and functions written in C; and low-level file
access.

About SysQuake

SysQuake is a ground-breaking application for understanding and designing complex
systems by the use of interactive graphics. Interactivity lets the user
manipulate graphics, observe how phenomena are related, and change parameters to
improve the design of a technical device. Understanding how initial conditions
affect a simulation or how the parameters of a feedback controller determine the
behavior of a dynamic system is made much easier than with the static graphics
created by existing software.

SysQuake's powerful, yet easy-to-program computer language opens it to any kind
of application; SysQuake handles the user interface itself, letting the developer
concentrate on the specifics of his or her problem. It is shipped with
applications in the fields of automatic control, analog and digital filters,
model identification, physics, and finance. SysQuake is not only useful for
research and development--its ability to help really understand the system beyond
the graphics makes it also the ideal tool for teaching.

SysQuake 1.3 (for Mac OS 8-9 and Windows 95/98/NT) and SysQuake LE 1.3 (for Mac
OS 8-9, Mac OS X (public beta) and Windows 95/98/NT) are available immediately.
