Press Release 010309
Calerga announces the release of LyME, a scientific application
for Palm with a Matlab-compatible language. Based on the
computation engine of SysQuake, LyME implements about 290
mathematical and graphical functions exploiting the power of
matrix and complex number math. LyME is available on the Web
as a free download.
Lausanne, Switzerland, March 9, 2001 - Calerga announces today the
immediate release of LyME 1.4. LyME is based on a powerful, yet
easy-to-use, scripting language specialized for numerical and matrix
computation. Its mathematical functions span from trigonometry and
logarithms to advanced linear algebra and statistics. Commands for
communicating with the serial port open LyME to the outside world.
Libraries of functions may be easily developed and reused.
LyME is based on LME, the same computational and language engine as
SysQuake's; it adds graphic functions and a user interface designed
for the pen and small screen of Palm OS devices, while SysQuake
profits from desktop or laptop processing power to provide
nearly-instantaneous graphical interactivity. LME's compatibility with
Matlab and SysQuake makes LyME the ideal companion of engineers.
"I'm very excited with the release of LyME, something I've been
dreaming about since the beginning of the development of LME four
years ago", said Yves Piguet, Calerga president. "Enthusiasm of our
beta testers proves that I'm not alone!".
LyME 1.4 for Palm OS handheld devices is available immediately with
comprehensive documentation as a free download.
